How do I mount my umbrella on a deck?
A deck or patio is the perfect place to enjoy the outdoors with friends and family.
There are a few steps you’ll need to take when fixing the surface plate to an existing deck to ensure stability and structural integrity. It’s important your bolts are running through a joist for stability.
We recommend lifting up some planks and installing extra joists and bracing between the existing structure of the deck.
Mark the bolt holes on the surface of the deck, above the joists, drill pilot holes and use bolts (not supplied) to affix your surface plate to the deck.
We also recommend using washers under the surface plate to allow water to escape and prevent water damage to the deck.
