How to replace your Umbrella Ribs.

Step by step guide to replacing the ribs on your Serenity or Unity umbrella.

1. Remove the Fabric Canopy and close the umbrella.
2. Remove the Trim Ring and unscrew the LED Lens (8 screws).
3. Disconnect the LED board.
4. Unscrew the hub cover with the frame latched in the closed position – 8 screws.
5. Push the sliding carriage button and open the frame slightly. Very important: Please support and bundle all the ribs together as you partially open the frame. Unhook the broken rib from the hub and push the frame closed again until it latches.
6. Temporarily screw the hub cover back again. Fasten only two -three opposite screws to keep it in place. (No need to re-assemble the LED board and clear lens yet.)
7. Use a stable ladder to access the top hub. Remove the foam ring to expose the 8 Hub Cover screws. Unscrew the hub cover (8 screws)
8. Unhook the faulty rib.
9. Fit the new rib by hooking it in place. Ensure the axle pin at the end is centred inside the end cap pivot hole.
10. Replace the hub cover and stick the foam ring back in place. All the ribs should now be in place on the upper hub end with only the new rib still dangling at the lower (LED) hub end.
11. Unscrew the bottom Hub end cap (Undo the screws that were holding it temporarily closed.) Repeat step 5 by opening the frame just enough so to allow the new rib to be hooked back into position. Remember to support all the other ribs from unhooking. Once in position push the frame until it latches closed again.
12. Refit the lower hub cover (8 screws). Re-connect the LED board. Please ensure that the black and red wires are correctly paired. Ensure connectors are fully pushed together. Refit the PCB board and clear lens. Please check that the lens seal is back in place. Ensure all 8 lens screws are secured. Take care not to overtighten these screws as this could strip the plastic thread. Clip the trim ring back in place and test the umbrella frame before refitting the fabric canopy.
