How big are Shadowspec Umbrellas?

Are you wondering how much space you can cover or how tall the mast is?

We're often asked how big the umbrellas are, how tall or how much coverage you can expect from them.

Coverage

Shadowspec Umbrellas typically come in square or octagonal versions and different sizes. To calculate the total coverage area you need to determine which shape you'd like.

To calculate the coverage of a square umbrella we take the documented size and multiply it by 2.

E.g: 2.5m x 2 = 5.0m of shade coverage or 3.0m x 2 = 6.0m of shade coverage

To calculate the coverage of an octagonal umbrella we take the documented size and calculate the radius of the octagon. We generally assume the umbrella is a circle and solve for the circumference of the circle.

E.g: 3.5m / 2 = 1.75 (radius)

Solve for circumference: C = 2 π r

C = 2 x 3.14 x 1.75

C = 10.99m

You can then multiply these areas by the number of canopies or umbrellas and you'll have a good idea of just how much space you can cover with a Shadowspec umbrella.
